Souring The Ingredients

 

Creating wedding cakes for couples in Somerset, London and beyond, we have always felt passionate about sourcing as many local ingredients as possible without compromising on the quality. The cake studio is set in the South West and we are lucky enough to be surrounded by local farms and growers that contribute to each and every wedding cake we creation.

 

We source local free-range eggs from a farm that is a stone’s throw from the studio, ensuring optimum freshness when it comes to the ingredients that create your cake. The eggs also contribute to the golden colour and deliciously fluffy sponge of our wedding cakes. The West Country Butter that we use is renowned for its rich and creamy texture, filling the cake mixture with flavour and an unmatched melt-in-your-mouth experience. We are also thrilled to be able to support local farmers and growers. It doesn’t end there! For our spiced apple wedding cake flavours, we use apples that have been locally sourced during the autumn season, capturing the essence of the season in every slice. And when it comes to our syrups, we whip these up ourselves (our champagne syrup is a must-taste).

If it can’t be sourced locally, we’ll use only the finest ingredients for your wedding cake, such as decadent Belgian chocolate that is recognised for its smooth texture and intensely rich flavour. A key ingredient within the ganache, it ensures a decadent and signature taste within every sponge. We’ll then mix our luxurious chocolate ganache with Swiss meringue buttercream, resulting in a silky-smooth and moreish texture that is slightly less sweet than traditional American buttercream.

 

Our thyme and elderflower syrups are made in-house, infusing our wedding cakes with a delicate yet delightful floral aroma and a hint of herb-inspired flavours.
