A Bespoke Wedding Cake for Temperley Bridal

When Temperley London asked me to design a centrepiece cake for their bridal open day, I knew this couldn’t just be any cake. As with all my designs, it needed to celebrate creativity, couture and craftsmanship, values that are at the core of my business and everything I create. This particular cake design was also an opportunity to honour the artistry that defines the Temperley collection.
Set in their chic Ilminster HQ, this event brought together a collection of wedding professionals, where live harp music played throughout the occasion and canapés and cocktails were enjoyed. It was a day filled with bridal inspiration – we were even invited to wear Temperley dresses ourselves, which, if you know me, you’ll know was an absolute joy to be able to do so. I’ve always adored gowns by Temperley, having worn different designs for each of The Wedding Industry Awards in 2024 & 2025. Throughout the day, brides dropped in to browse, sip and try on dresses.

The Toledo gown (in Almond Mix) by Temperley was the inspiration behind the wedding cake design I created – my creativity began the moment I saw (and fell in love with) the silhouette of the dress. Long, elegant and beautifully tailored, it featured vibrant floral motifs in different sections, and so I decided to mirror the layout of the dress for my cake design.
Each section of the dress was reflected throughout the cake’s different tiers, echoing the position of the motifs on the gown. The stencilled pattern on the fondant replicated the illusion of the delicate netting used as the Toleda gown’s base layer, while the cascading sugar flowers in the brightest hues matched the bold and beautiful embroidery in the fabric. As with all my cake designs, I pour time into even the smallest details to bring a vision to life, whether it’s a hint of texture, the movement of a sugar flower or perfecting the colour palette. It is this level of obsession that makes sure my designs stand out from the crowd, offering something totally unique and always unforgettable.

The result was a tall, sculptural and head-turning wedding cake, bursting with intricate detailing and colours that were impossible to ignore. It’s rare to create a cake that gets the chance to sit directly alongside its inspiration, and to have the opportunity to place my creation beside the Toledo gown was a true honour.
But that’s exactly what made this bridal event so special! So, with that in mind, a huge thank you to the talented team at Temperley for the invitation, and to the other incredible suppliers who were involved. It was my pleasure to be a part of such a creative, welcoming and undeniably stylish occasion!
